Medicine and Holy Man Black Elk shared 'As you walk upon the sacred earth, treat each step as a prayer.' We are truly blessed to have the wisdom of our Elders from indigenous cultures right across the globe. Their wisdom is timeless and priceless echoing truth from generations ago right up to this very day. A constant reminder to 'be here now' as yogi Ram Dass shares and this we can achieve by being aware and taking note of where our feet take us daily.
If we were to calculate how many steps a day we take - it would be many, yet if we were to recall how many times we were present with every step - it would most likely be minimal. We are so busy with our day to day lives our mind takes off on us and our feet just follow without any deep connection to each other. Yet we have only to remember when we are walking the Earth - it is one of our most powerful energy sources feeding our body, mind and soul.
Today, a simple reminder to be where your feet are. Each step is sacred and for us to be present where ever our feet take us. Let us be mindful of our steps we take and be one with our feet. We can be caught up with the constant bombardment of our thoughts that occupy our headspace and if we shift our focus and be mindful with 'every step' - we will walk in gratitude. Just like our breath our steps are sacred and key to our existence and functioning here on earth.
Our time is sacred on this earth. Let's nurture the wisdom of our Elders and be where our feet are today.
