Last night we went to pick up my beautiful niece Prasayus to stay the night with us and we passed a Buddhist temple and got a quick glimpse of people sitting on the floor in meditation and I vowed I would stop on the way back home...and so we did. A sign shared it was a Sri Lankan Buddhist temple and our kids got quite excited when the driveway was just up ahead from where we had parked. Although dark upon entry, it was beautifully lit with shrines, candles and a few people huddled around going through their group mantras, prayers and meditations. I parked the car and felt blessed with the drops of rain on me as I dashed out to see if I could get some brochures and information so we could attend in future.
I was then guided to a home further to the back and so we parked on the side of the house. 'Be Mindful' was the sign outside the door and already the excitement as you can imagine within me was hard to contain. The home was also a temple and it turned out six monks had travelled from Sri Lanka to lead a retreat here in Brisbane and this was the last night for the retreat. We were so grateful to meet and sit with two Buddhist monks Thero and Benthi and receive a blessing from them both through mantra and prayers whilst all holding a string by hand together. Upon finishing the prayers, the string was then cut into seven pieces and tied around our wrists by Benthi and were told to keep it on for three days.
With this blessing we received last night, we as a family would like to pass the same blessings to you. In a time where our world is going through great transformation we pray for all globally and ask for Divine Wisdom and guidance through this critical time we are in. We pray for Puetro Rico, Mexico and all the countries of the world impacted by floods, drought, earthquakes, and hurricanes. We pray for the global soul of humanity, we pray for the love of humanity and our beautiful world. We pray for Divine Wisdom in our hearts, souls and minds individually and collectively.
Prayers and blessings globally. Much love, Sio, Aina and family xo
Thank you for sharing this Aina blessed week.
So beautifully written. What an impact and change of direction your meeting with the monks had due to your very open heart. Blessings. ❤️
